Past Performances

Below is a sampling of some of our past performances…

  • “Musical Inventions” – our debut performance – was given on May 16, 2010 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI as part of the Music in the Woods Chamber Series.
  • “Dance” was presented in Southern Ontario – on November 19, 2010 at the Art Gallery of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario as our Fall Recital, and in Downtown Detroit on January 23, 2011 for the Fine Arts Society of Detroit as part of Chamber Music at the Playhouse in Detroit, Michigan.
  • “Song and Dance” was performed on October 23, 2011 at the Classical Music Concert Series at the Sanilac County Historical Village and Museum in Port Sanilac, Michigan.
  • “Suites françaises” marked our return (by popular demand) to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Grosse Pointe Woods on May 18, 2012.
  • An evening recital with soprano Alice McAllister-Tillman at Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor, MI on June 30, 2012.  Concert highlights included the “Seven Popular Spanish Songs” by Manuel de Falla as well as movements from “Le Tombeau de Couperin” by Maurice Ravel.
  • MHQ performed at Christ Church Cranbrook on October 9, 2013 for their Salon Concert Series.  The program featured works by Andres, Gershwin and Salzedo.
  • On October 13, 2013 we performed an extended version of our program from October 9th, featuring the works of Ravel and Tournier.  This performance took place at the First United Methodist Church in Ann Arbor for their concert series “Chamber Music Series at Greenwood”.
  • MHQ performed at First Presbyterian Church of Farmington Hills on April 6, 2014 for their Concert Series with a program entitled “Minuet a la mode”.  This program featured the works of Andres, Wickey, Salzedo and Ravel.
  • On June 1, 2014, MHQ appeared as one of the featured ensembles on the season finale for the Chamber Music at the Scarab Club Series in Midtown Detroit.
  •  MHQ performed at the 41st National Conference of the American Harp Society in New Orleans, LA on June 25, 2014.  We were one of three groups featured in an evening concert of professional harp ensembles.  Alice McAllister-Tillman also performed with MHQ featuring works by Adams and Gerswhin.
  • MHQ returned, by popular demand, to the First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor to perform on their Greenwood Chamber Music Series in October of 2014.  Soprano, Allice Tillman joined MHQ in a performance of works by Carter and Adams.  Works by Stravinsky, Wickey, Ravel and Salzedo were also featured.
